Down Home With the Neelys stars Pat and Gina Neely announced that they were getting a divorce in late September. They had been pretty quiet about their marital troubles and on television seemed perfectly happy. It was later discovered that this has been far from the case. Gina has been living in a separate home for almost two years now. Gina appeared on the Wendy Williams Show recently and she spoke about her marriage. She also showed off her new slim, size 0 figure.

For the last few years they have been trying to work things out in their marriage. Gina moved out not to get away from her husband, but to try and fix things. Sometimes distance and a little separation is good for a failing relationship and can help to mend things. Unfortunately this was not the case for this couple. Neely said that they went through couple’s counseling but it didn’t help. They have ended on good terms however and she states that this is one of the most important parts for her.

Williams told Neely that it wasn’t fair that she looked so happy when she was going through a divorce. Gina stated that it was life and that you don’t stop what you are doing just because some bad things are happening in your life. The Neelys had been married for 23 years. They had done over 70 episodes of their hit cooking show, own restaurants together, and have a franchise together. She said that business is business when Williams asked what was going to happen to their brand that they have built together.

Even though they are going through a divorce it seems that the Neelys are (for now) in a good place. They are still on amicable terms. They have taken the necessary steps to ensure that their children are aware and comfortable with the situation. Everyone seems to be in good spirits despite the fact that a very long-term relationship is ending. Hopefully they will remain on good terms and not fall to the pressure of being in the public eye like so many other celebrity couples who have divorced before them.

  2. You know how “country ghetto” they were in a nice sorta way….Smiles. I wish them all the best.

The Food Network does not give very many African Americans a break, even though there are some very accomplished minority chefs out there trying to make a name for themselves.

So for Gina and Pat to fake it until they could make it was a smart move. Now that they have established their brand and acquired their eating establishments… they can go on and be who they really are.

    How You doing?????

  3. They are the smartest black couple on tv. They made it work. They got paid. They are financially secure. Gina can grieve on her yacht in the Caribbean islands somewhere!!!

  4. I agree w/Gina “you can’t stop doing what you’re doing because bad things happen” I wish them both much happiness & peace. I miss them from the food network show. Maybe one of them will implement their own plan(s) to come back or start a new cooking show. Many Blessings to the both of them.

    • I don’t get it. This person seemed insulted about the southern charm the Neely’s portrayed on their cooking show. Just what was wrong with that? How can someone ridicule them for cooking and being charming while doing something positive and plus they were getting paid for their expertise. Why can’t this person enjoy rather than want to tear them down being negative.
      SOME PEOPLE REALLY NEED JESUS!!!
What a negative and hurtful person this individual is. They should be ashamed of themselves, unfortunately, a person feeling like this sees no wrong in their thinking and finds fault with everyone else.

  5. I watched her on Wendy Williams and she was doing to murch. Just over the top, “Girlfriend Mode.” Don’t know what she is trying to prove. Just cook good food and be genuine about it. That’s all we need. The new you can rest. Kinda like “too loud” and “hey look at me” You know the not so cute girl..doing too much and not used to anything. But, smart move to show a unified front for a solid financial future. Not mad. Just bring it down a few notches. Class is never loud.
