Another actress is being added to this year’s list of mothers-to-be! Thandie Newton is expecting her third child. The 40 year old “Crash” actress is thrilled to be expecting a little bundle of joy. Newton and her husband who is a writer and director, Ol Parker, have been together for 15 years. Their other children are daughters Ripley age 12 and Nico age 8.
Newton has been dressing differently in order to hide her baby bump; you can barely tell that it is there. She has not said how far along into her pregnancy she is, but on the red carpet at the Toronto Film Festival you could definitely see the bump despite the cleverly worn dress that Newton wore while promoting her new movie “Half a Yellow Sun”.
Newton was born in London, England and has had a very successful acting career. She has had roles in movies such as “Crash”, “The Pursuit of Happyness”, “Interview With a Vampire”, and “The Chronicles of Riddick”. She was nominated for multiple awards and won quite a few awards for her role as Christine in “Crash” such as the BAFTA award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, the Black Reel Award for Best Ensemble, Empire Award for Best Actress, and a SAG award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
Newton and Parker married in 1998. Her daughters are named after singer Nico and the character Ellen Ripley in the movie “Alien”. She has expressed an affinity for Buddhism and is known as the queen of practical jokes by friend and director David Schwimmer. This year, Newton lead a flash mob in London to speak out against violence and speak up for for justice and gender equality.
