Comedian and satirical pundit Bill Maher (pictured right) earned himself some warranted scrutiny recently after an on-air verbal foul up on his Friday night show “Real Time With Bill Maher.”
The 61-year-old television host referred to himself as a “house n*gga” during a June 2nd episode of his HBO show as he interviewed a Republican Senator from the state of Nebraska named Ben Sasse.
Maher’s liberal-minded Freudian slip outraged the nation and many people called for his firing. However, some minorities gave Maher a “pass” because of his liberal views, anti-Trump rhetoric, and his history of dating multiple black women, such as New York Times Best-Selling author Karrine “Superhead” Steffans.
However, Coco Johnson (pictured left), another one Maher’s previous black girlfriends recently told TMZ that she is not at all surprised over the former “Politically Incorrect” talk show host’s poor choice of words.
Johnson and Maher dated each other for a year and a half. However, Johnson ended up filing a $9 million dollar lawsuit against Maher for a number of grievances, including race-based emotional abuse.
In her exclusive interview with TMZ, Johnson was asked how she felt about Maher’s lingual gaffe and whether or not he ever used the word “n*gga” to demean her.
“I just think anyone who uses the N-word is very insensitive. Just use another word, you know, next time. I’m sure that he’s learned his lesson. Maybe a little sensitivity training at the NAACP could do some use,” Johnson said in her on-camera TMZ interview.
“I’ve heard [the N-word from Maher]plenty of times. I don’t want to say exactly from where, but I just think that anyone that uses that word, you know, you really need to use some other vocabulary…It’s so condescending and just sad and disappointing that someone so intelligent would stoop to that level,” she continued.
