A notable national newspaper’s popular gossip column has reportedly confirmed a rumor in Black Hollywood that many people already thought was true.
Page Six, the New York Post’s number one tea kettle reported on Monday (May 8th) that another unnamed source gave an interview stating that Phaedra Parks (pictured) will not be returning as a member of the cast on the next season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA).
Parks, 43, created a web of lies recently that involved painting another cast member (most notably co-star Kandi Burruss) as a lesbian date [email protected] who wanted to drug and assault fellow RHOA co-star Porsha Williams, 35.
Burruss vehemently denied this and was infuriated about the rumor. The spread of this misinformation caused an abundance of tension on the set of the show. All of the boil over seemed to come out during the recent RHOA reunion episode.
Parks is said to have even incensed RHOA executive producer Andy Cohen. Many people who work on the RHOA production team feel as though Parks’ antics could easily explode into real-life legal disasters off the set as well.
“They were so disgusted with her. The entire cast and Andy agreed Phaedra would not be coming back next season. She dug her own grave. She’s considered a liability and will not be returning. Andy is upset,” the unnamed RHOA insider told Page Six.
Parks’ departure doesn’t seem to jeopardize the show’s future star power. Former RHOA co-stars Nene Leakes and Kim Zolciak have signed on to return for the show’s next season.
Page Six also reported that Zolciak will be coming back for a part-time role while Leakes will definitely be making a full-time comeback.
It isn’t clear, however, what Parks’ (who is an attorney in real life) next move will be now that it looks like she won’t be returning to RHOA’s 10th season. Reps for Parks did not respond to any contacts made by Page Six, the gossip column reported.
