Having unprotected s*x is the easiest way to get an STD. But did you know that there are some that you can get without ever being s*xually active? Here are some STDs that can be contracted from every day things:

1. Herpes – Unfortunately herpes is very contagious and very easy to transmit. You can get it by kissing or even sharing a razor. There are two different kinds of herpes, HSV 1 and HSV 2. The only real distinction between the two is that HSV 2 is a recurrent problem. They are both transmitted in the same way and neither of them has a cure. One of the tell-tale signs that you have the virus is that you develop cold sores. You may also experience cold-like symptoms.

2. Molluscum Contagiosum – This is one of the lesser known viral infections that can be spread around. It is not technically an STD but the appearance of lumps that have craters in them can be found around the gen!tals makes it close. It can be transmitted from skin to skin contact but is also transmitted in places such as tanning beds. The virus goes away without the help of medication and usually does not come back once it is gone.

3. HPV – This is one of the most common STDs for s*xually active young women. There is a vaccine to prevent it however many cannot afford the shot. The doctor will be able to give you medication that will help to get rid of the symptoms but the virus could lie dormant in your body for years.

4. Trichomoniasis – This is another little known STD and yet it is so easily transmitted. The virus can live on an inanimate object for days after someone who is infected touches it. You could walk into a bathroom and just touch the door handle that has been touched by someone who was infected and you could pick the virus up. Antibiotics will clear it right up but the symptoms are not always noticeable as they are the same as a yeast infection. If infected with the virus you could experience discharge and itching down there.
