Healthy Body Image: How To Overcome A Negative Relationship With Your Body

A healthy body image is something that everyone should have. Unfortunately very few of us actually know what a healthy body image is and therefore we do not have it. It is not all about how you see yourself physically, but also how connected to your body you are.

The first thing that you need to do is get yourself into a healthy mindset. You cannot have a healthy image of yourself if you don’t have this first. Give your mind the loving and positive thoughts that it needs. The healthier your mindset is the better care you will take of your body. Think about how you react when you are compared to someone else, or when you are judged by someone else. Do you let that judgment linger with you or do you let it roll off your back? If you don’t listen to what others say and don’t critique yourself harshly, you are well on your way to a healthy mind.

You also need to make sure that you are giving your body the proper nourishment. Record everything that you put in your mouth for a day so that you can see where you may need to change habits. Also look at who you spend your time with, as being around negative people is not nourishing at all.

Detach your brain from thoughts of when you were thinner, or what celebrity you want to look like. Snap back into reality and think about how you are right now. Trust your body and your mind to move in the right direction, don’t set unrealistic goals for yourself.

Enjoy your life, but make sure that you are living it in a positive way. This will help to get your mind and your body on track, leading to a better image of yourself!
