Most celebrities have resources at their hands, to help them lose weight and keep fit, that most people don’t. They have personal trainers, live- in chefs and elaborate home gyms. The good news for the rest of us is that the formula for weight loss is basically the same, regardless of whether we live simple lives or extravagant lives like the rich and famous. Eating less calories in your meals and burning more calories with exercise and other physical activities will result in weight loss eventually, as long as more excess calories are burned than consumed.
But what if you want to get that weight off fast? What if you have a wedding or another big event to attend and you need that weight to come off fast? Well, while it is probably not advisable to try to get weight off fast constantly, there is a way to do it. The good news is that it doesn’t cost much and it has worked for many celebrities.
Rachel Beller, author of Eat to Lose, Eat to Win and a nutritionist on The Biggest Loser, offers celebrity clients like Sheryl Crow and Laura Dern a less painful alternative for getting trim before important events.
Here are the two best tips she gives to her famous clients before they walk any red carpet:
1) To suppress your appetite (start 2-3 weeks before the big event): Add dietary fiber to your diet. “Mix 1 tablespoon of organic psyllium with 2 ounces of pomegranate or unsweetened cranberry juice and water and add a couple drops of stevia,” Beller tells her clients. Drink the concoction 30 minutes before lunch and dinner.
2) To de-bloat (start 5 days before the big event): Drink fennel tea: “Fill a tea ball with fennel seeds and seep in hot water. It’s important before and on the big day as a de-bloater.”
