kettlebell-workoutOn New Year’s day, many people make all kinds of resolutions and on the list for many people is usually a weight loss goal. Unfortunately, as the year progresses, lives become busier and schedules become too tight and sadly, one of the first things to drop off the list of daily things to do is exercise. Another reason many people go with out exercise is because they have to go to the gym which, unlike exercising at home, adds time to the gym time.

But what if you could get your exercise done quicker and still maximize the calories you burn. And what if you could do the exercise at home?

Nora Tobin, a fitness expert at shape.com suggests trying kettle-bell as not only a weight loss tool, but also an aid in sculpting and building strength.

A kettlebell is one of the most efficient, effective tools for sculpting a slim, strong physique. Why? Instead of isolating muscle groups like you do when lifting dumbbells, you work all your major muscle groups at once with a kettlebell. That’s because the weight isn’t evenly distributed, so you have to work continuously to control the bell’s shifting center of gravity. The result: major calorie burn—a recent study by the American Council on Exercise found that kettlebell exercises can burn up to 20 calories a minute—while you add definition to your shoulders, back, bu++, core, and arms.

How it works: Three days a week, perform 1 set of each exercise back to back. Do the entire circuit 3 times. For best results, schedule your workouts on non-consecutive days so your body has time to recover.
