The news has been overflowing about expecting mothers in black Hollywood this week ahead of Mother’s Day Weekend.
First, it was the news about Scandal star Kerry Washington and her ex-NFL star husband Nnamdi Asomugha expecting baby number two. Then it was the extraordinary news about singer Janet Jackson being pregnant with a child days before her 50th birthday.
Now at the end of the week, former model and reality TV star Evelyn Lozada does an exclusive interview with BET.com about the upcoming second season of her current hit reality TV show series Livin’ Lozada on OWN.
The 40-year-old former Basketball Wives star also talked about her strong desire to have baby number 3 with husband Carl Crawford of the LA Dodgers.
In Lozada’s interview, the mompreneur talks about the pain over the struggle she’s had trying to conceive a second child with Crawford.
“In the new season, as soon as we started filming, I find out I’m pregnant and then I find out [on Thanksgiving Day] that I miscarried again,” Lozada told BET.com.
“So I had to make the decision if I wanted to talk about that again. I did, so we discuss that,” she continued.
Miscarriage is a very sad thing for expecting couples to go through. Lozada has shown a lot of strength by going through something this difficult while still pursuing her career a business owner and TV star. Lozada co-owns a boutique in Coral-Gables, Florida called Dolce.
However, Lozada is still hopeful that she will eventually conceive a child with her MLB star husband.
“We would like to. Naturally, yes. I’m hopeful. At the end of the season I start feeling like I need to figure out if this is going to happen naturally or if I need to do IVF [In vitro fertilization]. You’ll see I talk about that on the show,” Lozada also told BET.com.
OWN will be debuting the first episode of Livin’ Lozada’s second season on Saturday, May 7 at 10/9 CST.
