Watermelon is a delicious summer fruit. It is great for picnics and barbeques. Kids love it as an after school snack. The one group that should be eating watermelon is men. New studies show that watermelon acts as a natural V!agra. There is a large amount of citrulline in the fruit. Citrulline is an amino acid that that relaxes the blood vessels much like V!agra does which helps with the circulation.

Before these studies were done researchers had thought that the majority of the amino acid was found in the rind which is a part that almost no one eats. The new studies showed that there is a lot more amino acid in the pink flesh than originally thought. When the amino acid is ingested it gets converted into arginine which is another amino acid. Arginine helps to heal the body. It helps the kidneys to move waste along through the body.

Around 4 ounces of watermelon should do the trick for men who are looking to have a little more fun during the summer. This is equivalent to around 10 balls or chunks of watermelon. Each serving contains around 150 mg of citrulline. More than that is not unhealthy as it is not a drug so there are no harmful side effects.

Watermelon has many other benefits as well. It has a lot of water in it so it can keep you hydrated. It is low in natural sugar. It is good for your heart and also great for healing wounds due to the citrulline that becomes arginine. The next time you are headed out to a picnic make sure that you pack a large container of this sweet summer treat!
