One of the most established and influential black American women in the music industry has done something amazing that many of her own fans probably didn’t think she could do.
According to US Weekly Magazine, Janet Jackson (pictured right) gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Tuesday (January 3rd). Jackson, 50, and her husband Wissam Al-Mana (pictured left) named their brand new son Eissa. A rep close to the wealthy couple have shared that the two are very happy.
“Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al-Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al-Mana into the world,” an unnamed representative for the pair told US Weekly. “Janet had a stress free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably,” the rep also said.
Al-Mana, 41, is a billionaire business magnate from the Arab nation of Qatar. Al-Mana and Jackson got married back in 2012 at a super secret ceremony after they had been dating for some time. Rightfully so, Jackson has kept her family life private and decided in 2016 to put her career on hold so that she could focus on becoming a new mother alongside her financially successful husband.
“My husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour,” Jackson said in an April 2016 Facebook video where she announced the cancellation of her “Unbreakable” world tour.
“Please, if you can try and understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor’s orders! But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can,” she continued.
Due to Jackson’s age, much speculation went on in the media about her health during the pregnancy. However, an unnamed source close to her told US Weekly in September 2016 that things were going fine. “Janet is super excited. She’s doing great,” the source said last fall in an interview with US Weekly.
Congratulations to Jackson and Al-Mana. May their brand new baby boy continue to live happy and healthy!
