Kerry Washington: “Voting for Trump is Voting Against Our Best Interests”

Famed actress and TV producer Kerry Washington (pictured) just recently appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher to talk about, well, politics.

Earlier in this recent episode, Maher set the tone for what became another ad nauseam discussion about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Maher had none other than Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s campaign manager as a guest on the show prior to Washington’s appearance.

In his customary, politically incorrect fashion, Maher let Conway have it when explaining his disdain for Trump’s candidacy. “You are enabling pure evil,” Maher told Conway during her appearance on his show. ““You just said you can’t support someone who ‘lies for a living,’ when I read a list of provable lies,” he continued.

Later, Washington came out on the set of the show poised as she began making lucid statements giving her take on the Trump candidacy. It was almost as if her experience as a make believe White House crisis manager on Scandal suddenly became legitimate as she shared her two cents on the current political climate.

“I think if we really look at policy, voting for Trump is voting against our best interests as Americans, as workers, as people of color, as women,” Washington told Bill Maher. Her statements were met with applause from the audience as she spoke with emphasis.

Washington also talked about how Trump’s anti-women antics are not only hurtful to the female gender, but to all working-class Americans.

“There’s been a lot of talk about it being insulting to women, but I think it’s actually insulting to families and to workers,” Washington added.

The 39-year-old TV star also had some words to say about Conway, which were indicative of how Washington honestly felt about Conway’s role on the Trump campaign.

“Kellyanne’s really good at what she does. Playing Olivia Pope, I know spin when I see it.” Washington said. To watch a clip of Washington’s recent appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher, click on the hyperlink to this article’s source below.
