Did you know that there are certain times that you are less likely to get down and dirty with your partner depending on the status of your relationship? A new study that was published in the Journal of S*xual Medicine investigated deeper into the theory that women are more charged up in the middle of their ovulation cycle and they found that women who are single are more likely to have s*x on the weekdays and women who are in committed relationships are more likely to get busy on the weekends.
The study was conducted by a team of researchers at the University of Catania in Italy. They watched the ovulation and menstrual cycles of 1,180 women. They asked the women to keep a journal log of their s*xual activity with their partners. The study revealed that all women do in fact have more s*x around the time that they are ovulating (blame biological clocks for that!). They also found that this was truer for women who were single as opposed to those that were in relationships.
They also found that women who were in a relationship amped up their activity as the week went on with Saturday being the busiest day of the week for them. With the single ladies it was more common for them to have s*x from Sunday through Thursday.
So why is there a difference between those who are committed and those who are single? The researchers estimate that it is because those who are in committed relationships are more likely to be working full-time as well as having family responsibilities. They are more tired during the week than single people who are able to go out any night that they want.
