This past March 25th, Omarosa Manigault (pictured right) was scheduled to marry J.A. Newman (pictured left), pastor of a church called The Sanctuary at Calvary in Jacksonville, Florida.
However, according to The Daily Mail, a British newspaper, Manigault, 43, and Newman, 61, recently cancelled their wedding due to death threats, which were leveled against Manigault. The wedding ceremony was originally supposed to happen at Newman’s church.
“[Manigault] is really concerned about her safety. There have been threatening calls, emails and social media messages and she feared that she wouldn’t be protected adequately,” an unnamed source close to Manigault told The Daily Mail in an exclusive interview.
Manigault’s alliance with U.S. President Donald Trump has made her a national pariah in black communities across America. There has also been vitriolic sentiment expressed by members of Newman’s own congregation due to the fact that he has chosen Manigault to be his wife.
“Pastor Newman is a staunch Democrat. He was even a spiritual adviser on the committee of ministers working on Hillary Clinton’s election campaign,” a member of Newman’s church told The Daily Mail.
“His church membership doesn’t like the idea of their pastor marrying this Trump advocate who bashed President Barack Obama and believe Pastor Newman is using poor judgment by becoming her husband,” the church member added.
Manigault and Newman have moved their wedding date up to April 8th. Their marriage ceremony will be held in Washington D.C. at an undisclosed location. “Since [Manigault] moved the wedding to D.C., she’s invited President Trump and other senior level White House executives in an effort to make sure the secret service and extra security will be there,” Manigault’s unnamed source also told The Daily Mail.
The Washington Post reported this past February that Manigault was shopping with some friends of hers at Tyson’s Corner Center in McLean, Virginia when two women yelled insults at the former Celebrity Apprentice star calling her “Trump’s wh*re.”
