Anyone who knows Serena Williams or has ever heard her talk about tennis knows that she loves the game and she excels at it.  The tennis superstar was recently forced to retire mid-game at Wimbledon. During a match, the world No.1  tennis star appeared groggy and was losing her footing, then she withdrew from the tournament.

In the video below, Williams appears to be in very low spirits as she discusses her performance but makes no mention of the reason why she actually had to exit Wimbledon- a place where she loves to compete.

Many of Williams’ fans were surprised and disappointed when the tennis star was eliminated from the singles portion of the competition this past weekend. Because of her withdrawal from the competition, Serena has now also forced her sister, Venus, to also throw in the towel because they are doubles partners.

At the beginning of the match, Serena was being attended to by trainers before she even went on the court for her match. Seeing trainers attending to her already had many people concerned about her and the state of her health. The tennis star was also seen serving in a way that looked very unusual for her and she even lost her footing and then served short.

No one knows if the tennis star has an injury that has not been spoken about. There is speculation that collapsing against Coronet, having trouble making her first serves and making many unforced errors could indicate that something is very wrong.

According to sbnation.com,

“Early reports from Wimbledon indicate that umpire Kader Nouni stepped in and told Williams to retire from the match due to a lack of balance and grogginess on the court. There has been no announcement on her condition at this time.”

Hopefully, this is just a minor setback and Serena will be back on the court before we know it.

I DID NOT GET A CHANCE TO VIEW THE TAPE, BUT I’D SAY THIS, A LOSS IS NOT REASON FOR SERENA TO THROW IN THE TOWEL. WE HAVE GOOD DAYS AND BAD ONES. IF IT IS IN HER HEART TO DO (RETIRE) THEN THATZ WHAT SERENA WILLIAMS SHOULD. SHE AND HER SISTER DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO PROVE. AS FOR HER BEHAVIOR AT WIMBLEDON I CAN’T SPEAK ON THAT, BECAUSE I NEVER SAW THE TAPE. MAYBE SERENA NEEDS TO TAKE A BREAK. IN ANY EVENT, GOD BLESS YOU SERENA WILLIAMS YOU ARE AS BEAUTIFUL AS YOU ARE TALENTED.

Girl, and I say that with the utmost respect. U the chick! Muhammad Ali once said.” We have losses. We loose our health, friends, people we love, etc.” Losing is just as much a part of life as winning is. As Curtis Mayfield put it “You’re a winner, and everybody knows it too.” Do your thing, til you satisfied! Love Always!
