Tennis megastar Serena Williams (pictured) is going to tie the knot after getting formally engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in December of 2016.
According to a recent article published by US Weekly Magazine, Williams, 36, and Ohanian, 34, have planned to marry each other in the festive southern U.S. city of New Orleans, Louisiana. The in love couple welcomed a daughter into the world named Alexis two months ago.
An anonymous source close to the pair told US Weekly that Williams desires a color scheme for her wedding full of “lots of white with pastel accents.” The source also told US Weekly that approximately 250 people have been invited to Williams and Ohanian’s wedding ceremony.
On the weekend of Friday, November 3rd, Williams celebrated her future wedding date with a bachelorette getaway alongside her sister Venus, singer Ciara, and LaLa Anthony. The lovely quartet stayed at the lavish Baccarat Hotel in New York City, New York.
An eyewitness who was in the area at the time told US Weekly that the four ladies were escorted around the city on a party bus and had a private dinner at the TAO Group’s new seafood brasserie called Legasea. After dining in at the fancy eatery, the four ladies went out dancing to top off their night on the town.
“They partied ‘til the wee hours at PH-D Rooftop in the Meatpacking District before returning back to the hotel,” the eyewitness told US Weekly in their exclusive interview.
The following day, Williams, her sister, and two best friends chose a more relaxing and incognito outing to celebrate Williams’ future wedding. “The ladies were pampered with treatments at the Spa de La Mer at Baccarat Hotel,” the eyewitness added.
An exact wedding date has not yet been revealed. However, many speculate that it will happen before Williams returns to tennis to defend her championship in early 2018.
