Jillian Michaels has been in trouble before on the Biggest Loser, and in her own professional career. She was caught “cheating” on this week’s episode and it cost her team dearly. It also had a huge benefit for American Idol winner Ruben Studdard who will now be coming back to the show.
Right before the final weigh-in this week, host Alison Sweeney brought to light Jillian’s indiscretion. Jillian had given the people on her team caffeine supplements which are against the rules of the show. As a “punishment” for Jillian’s team their previous week’s weigh-in became invalid. The blue team retained their immunity status and the red team found out that they were going to be reunited with their favorite contestant who had been send home the week before. Jillian’s team was also given a four pound disadvantage that week.
Caffiene is not against the rules on the Biggest Loser but any supplements like that should cleared by the show doctor first. There was no clearance for anyone to be taking those pills. Jillian defends her decision saying that these supplements were nowhere near as horrible for you nutritionally as coffee can be.
Even after all of the punishments that were handed out Jillian said that she does not regret her decision. She said that it was too bad because her team had to suffer because of her “professional opinion” on the caffeine supplements.
Ruben is most likely very excited to be back on the show and this will give him the chance to lose even more weight. His teammates were also extremely excited as well because Ruben is a team favorite and he truly wants to make his life healthier.
