During a very recent episode of The Nomalanga Show on the Fly Nubian Queen Network, our business and website’s founder offered an interesting topic of discussion, which was spawned by a current event in celebrity news.
Media publisher Lee Bailey’s Electronic Urban Report ran a story recently about singer/reality show star Kandi Burruss and her teenage daughter Riley. This article stated that Riley has claimed she refuses to live in the same house as her stepdad Todd Tucker.
Burruss met Tucker in 2011 on the set of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. After dating for a few years, they finally married in 2014. A son named Ace was welcomed into the family in 2016. However, Riley is not happy and has asked her mother to furnish her an apartment so he can live away from Tucker and her new step-family.
Former beauty queen Nomalanga Mhauli-Moses discusses the Burruss-Tucker family situation in the video below. She also talks more about navigating stepparent woes as it pertains to comparisons between matriarchal and patriarchal family structures.
