Famed singer, songwriter, and former reality television star Tameka “Tiny” Harris has expressed a turbulent stance in regards to the public marriage she has with her husband, the star rap mogul Clifford “T.I.” Harris.
According to BET, the 41-year-old founding member of Xscape made a lengthy Facebook post, which expressed frustration with her husband’s disdain over a video that has recently surfaced.
In the video (which was shot at Mariah Carey’s recent Halloween party), Tiny is seen having a friendly dance with boxing champion Floyd “Money” Mayweather, her husband’s sworn nemesis.
Things started getting dicey between Mayweather and T.I. over Memorial Day weekend in 2014 when a brawl occurred between the two men’s camps at a Fatburger restaurant in Las Vegas. The altercation began when T.I. confronted Mayweather over a happy picture that appeared online of his wife and the boxer before a recent title bout that year.
The two men have went back and forth with minor public antics since then. However, Tiny has refused to put herself in the middle of it and has continued her friendship with Mayweather. The two of them go way back prior to Tiny’s engagement and eventual marriage to T.I.
Tiny’s Facebook post was a vent over her struggle, which appears to set the record straight. She wrote the following in a social media update she made last week:
“When a woman’s fed up…For years i’ve been the one getting hurt, but now that a lil video done surfaced with me having a friendly dance, he’s mad?? Why? Yes, he’s my husband but damn can I not have a male friend?! Tip can’t be the only male friend I associate myself with just like I know I ain’t the only female he associate hisself with so…It is what it is..”
Mayweather or T.I. have not said anything publicly about Tiny’s Facebook post. However, in the past, Mayweather has insisted he is only friends with Tiny and does not wish to spoil her marriage with T.I.
After the Memorial Day incident in Las Vegas, Mayweather publicly apologized to Tiny in an interview with NecoleBitchie. Hopefully, T.I. realizes where his wife is coming from and honors her desire to have famous male friends without there being a double-standard in the marriage.
