Studies have shown that people who work out as soon as they wake up will have a tendency to get more quality exercise in and can lose more weight than those who work out later in the day. They are also more likely to stay active during the day, which will help to burn more calories through the entire day.

For those trying to get a better night’s sleep, early morning exercise right after you wake up is best as well. It helps to get outside and get some sunlight. This will give your body a reference as to the time of day and will help to make you more tired once nighttime hits.

Finally, if you are trying to push yourself to beat a personal record or you are preparing for a race, you should be working out at the same time every time you work out. It doesn’t matter what time of the day as long as you stay consistent. This will help you to determine different factors that may be hindering your progress.
