A popular singer who has emerged during the millennial era is embarking on a path toward a new lifestyle that will help put the health of herself and family in her own hands.
Very recently, “Bossy” hitmaker Kelis (pictured) conducted an exclusive interview with Architectural Digest Magazine where she took one of the publication’s new correspondents on a tour of her California mansion. The 3,850-square-foot home is located in the city of Glendale, which is outside Los Angeles.
Kelis’ sprawling Spanish-style house is quite lofty. It has a 1920s architectural design and has been renovated well. She purchased it in 2012 and was specifically drawn to it because of the mansion’s rare style. “The architecture inside the house was amazing, and it had a very dramatic, old Hollywood feel,” Kelis said in her interview.
“The backyard was so glamorous, and really, for me, that felt great. It was so nice for entertaining, and I pictured all the things I could do back there,” she continued.
Kelis, 38, conducted her interview and personal tour with Architectural Digest Magazine because she is trying to sell her Glendale estate. Currently, the home is listed for sale with directors at a Beverly Hills-based real estate firm called The Agency. The going price at this time is $1.885 million dollars.
The reason Kelis wants to sell this home is that she wants to buy a farm to live on instead. After she blew up as a singer, Kelis left the business to become a professional chef. She has also had a culinary book published called My Life on a Plate. So the famous musician has become more health conscious about what is in her diet.
“Now that I’ve got these two boys, I want to control a little bit more how we eat. We’re buying a farm, so that’s why we’re moving: so that we can grow everything and sustain everything that way,” Kelis added in her interview.
Kelis is the mother of two young boys, aged two and eight. Her eight-year-old is by her ex-husband Nas, a well-known rap artist. She remarried and had the second son with her current husband, a real estate agent named Mike Mora.
