Beyonce has been in the limelight quite a bit as of late. Most recently she was criticized for lip syncing the National Anthem at the Presidential inauguration. Then she was the halftime performer at the Superbowl. She sang live this time, most liked it, but some had issues with her dancing and wardrobe, stating that it was not family friendly.
Now Beyonce is sitting down with Oprah and talking about performing, her baby Blue Ivy, and her superstar husband Jay-Z. Beyonce gave high praises to her husband for standing by her and helping her throughout her career. She said she wouldn’t be who she is today without him.
The former Destiny’s Child lead told Oprah about how she and Jay-Z were friends for three and a half years before they embarked on their relationship. She said that the friendship laid the groundwork for the relationship. Oprah joked about advice she had given Beyonce a few years ago on her show about never telling who she was dating.
As a new mother, she couldn’t believe how crazy it was to have started performing just three months after giving birth to her daughter, Blue Ivy. She gained 57 pounds during the pregnancy and that absolutely made a difference in how she performed.
Beyonce has been performing for many years, starting with the girl group Destiny’s Child. She moved on to a solo act after that, with her father, Matthew Knowles as her manager, but then she let him go. She suffered through a miscarriage before Blue came along. She spoke with Oprah about all of this and told her what was coming up next for her professionally and even a little bit about what was coming personally.
