It appears as if one of Hollywood’s favorite couples is headed toward splitsville.
Tameka “Tiny” Harris filed for divorce from her husband Clifford “T.I.” Harris in Henry County, Georgia on December 7th. Jennifer Drysdale, a correspondent for ET wrote the following about this story in a Tuesday (December 27th) article, which was republished by Yahoo News:
“According to court documents obtained by ET, T.I. and Tiny are currently living in a state of separation, describing the marriage as “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation. Tiny is requesting joint legal custody and primary physical custody of the couple’s minor children — 12-year-old King C’Andre, 8-year-old Major Philant, and 9-month old Heiress Diana — in addition to both temporary and permanent child support and alimony. The T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle star has also requested that property acquired during their 6-year marriage be split equally, but wants T.I. to be responsible for all debt acquired during the relationship due to his ‘high earning ability.’ T.I. has until Jan. 6 to answer Tiny’s complaint. If no response is filed, judgement will be demanded as filed in the complaint.” (Entertainment Tonight)
Tiny and T.I.’s marriage was publicly looking very shaky recently when Tiny took to Facebook to air out frustration with her estranged husband’s apparent disdain over a video that surfaced recently.
The video showed Tiny having a friendly dance with boxer Floyd “Money” Mayweather at Mariah Carey’s Halloween party this year. HealthyBlackWoman.com recently covered this story in a December 12th article, which obviously came after Tiny had already filed the necessary paperwork to end her marriage of six years.
Hopefully, Tiny and T.I. might be able to go through with this public divorce in a way that does not adversely affect their children. Marriage failure in the face of the masses can definitely take its toll on family.
