Tennis star Serena Williams (pictured) broke the internet this past April when she posted a picture of herself on Snapchat with a caption announcing that she was 20 weeks pregnant with her first child.

The 35-year-old tennis champion is engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, 34. However, Williams’ pregnancy announcement shocked her die-hard tennis fans who immediately did the math when she publicly claimed on social media to be 20 weeks along.

If the 23-time Grand Slam winner was 20 weeks pregnant in April of 2017, that would mean that she was pregnant on January 28, 2017. That was the day Williams won the trophy after dominating the life out of her opponents at this year’s Australian Open.

While carrying a baby in its early stages, the 5’9″ and 155-pound Williams ruled the tennis court as she added another title to the long list of them she has won in her illustrious career. According to Vanity Fair, Williams found out she was pregnant a week before she was scheduled to compete.

More recently, history’s most dominant woman ever in the sport of tennis spoke with the U.K.’s Telegraph newspaper about the exercise regimen she regularly undertakes now that she is eight months pregnant.

Williams has said that she refuses to stop working out just because she is carrying a baby in its late stages.

“I intend to keep exercising for as long as possible while pregnant. I want my baby to be healthy and for that you need a healthy life,” Williams told the Telegraph in an exclusive interview.

“Also, when I come back to tennis, it’ll be better if I’ve kept as fit as possible all the way through the pregnancy rather than having to lose a lot of weight afterwards in order to get fit again. Eating healthily is a must, but being healthy is a lifestyle,” the tennis star continued.

If women do not have any pressing health concerns that limit their mobility, adequate exercise during pregnancy is encouraged, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Earlier this month, Williams posted a Snapchat video of herself undergoing a rigorous workout routine with a medicine ball. You can watch a clip of the video here.
