In 1994 Tia and Tamera Lowry starred in the pilot of Sister, Sister. The show had a slow start as part of the TGIF line-up on ABC. In 1995 after just one season, ABC announced that they were dropping the show due to low ratings. Fortunately the WB station picked the show up and it successfully ran for another four years. The premise of the show was that the two girls were twins who were separated at birth. Tia (character name Tia Landry) was adopted by single mother Lisa Landry (played by Jackee Harry). Tamera (character name Tamera Campbell) was adopted by Ray Campbell (played by Tim Reid) and his wife who died shortly thereafter. The two girls found each other by accident in a mall one day and eventually they became one happy family.
Now, 17 years after the final episode aired, Tia Mowry has made an announcement that a reboot is in the works. She said that they have a really great idea for the new show and that the entire cast is on board with it. They only thing that they are looking for to make this a reality is a studio to film the show in. But Tia promises that they are working on making this happen. Both Tia and Tamera have certainly been busy since they were on Sister, Sister, but they haven’t let that stop them from bringing back something that they know their fans are going to love.
Since Sister, Sister, Tamera Mowry-Hosley has gotten married and had two beautiful children. She is currently one of the hosts on the talk show The Real. Tia hosts a cooking show on the Food Network and has one son. Even though their lives are busy they are still making time to try and get this reboot off the ground. There has not been a formal pick-up by any networks but they are trying hard to make this happen. Tamera stated that the entire cast is excited and ready to make this reboot and they know the fans will be too. Shows that were on in the 90s have been making a comeback with the younger generation so it is no wonder why the Mowry sisters would want to put something together. Are you as excited about the reboot as we are?
