Tia Mowry-Hardict Poses For PETA With No Clothes in a Unique Way

Tia MowryBy Nomalanga Mhlauli-Moses

I’ve always said that I love the Mowry twins because they do such a great job of balancing work, family and celebrity life in a very classy and dignified way. A great example is their reality show which has been a huge hit, without the two ladies having to disrespect each other or themselves.

One of the twins,Tia Mowry-Hardict, is the latest celebrity to work with PETA for their new campaign. Last night Tia was joined by her sister Tameria Mowrry-Housley as she unveiled her campaign. Many celebrities have gone nude when working on PETA campaigns but Mrs. Hardict kept it classy by posing dressed in an apron made of lettuce.

Tia shared that she had been cyber bullied for going vegan and that motivated her to become a part of the campaign titled, “Let Veganism Grow on You.”

This is what she had to say:

I became a vegan and I was getting bullied a lot on Twitter and PETA reached out to me and they said ‘girl we’ve got your back’. And they sent so many cooking books and pamphlets and I was like ‘Wow, this is really cool.”

I wanted to become a voice for my community. That’s one of the reasons why I decided to be apart of this PETA ad campaign. I wanted to educate my culture about the benefits of becoming vegan. There’s a stigma about becoming a vegan, some people say ‘it doesn’t taste great’ [or]‘it doesn’t taste good.’ Don’t knock it until you try it. The taste is very vibrant. Its very satisfying. [….] There’s so many great things about being a vegan. I think number one, I’m becoming more conscious about what I’m putting into my body. And I feel great because I’m making healthy and better choices. I feel so amazing after I eat vegetables or greens. I don’t feel sluggish. […] What happens to these beautiful animals is just mind blowing.

Tia petaI think some people are afraid to [find out what really goes on with these animals]so they think ignorance is bliss but unfortunately not in this case. The more you learn about the benefits of being vegan, the more you become alive and the more you become aware of why it’s a really great decision. Not only am I helping myself, I’m helping the animals out there, I’m helping the environment—going vegan, I feel great.

  1. The animals didn't kill anything to get their fur, unlike the people who are wearing the fur off of animals who were killed only to have their fur ripped from their dead bodies.

Simply because what it does to your body. Most nuts, beans and seeds are much richer in protein and other nutrients when eaten in servings as small as 1/2 cup, and contain none of the harmful effects of meats due to the blood in meats that carry various forms of bacteria and parasites. In addition to that, raw fruits and vegetables are LIVING plants, meats are highly unsafe to consume raw, and are DEAD when we consume them. So the benefits of putting LIFE in your body are incomparable to the minimal benefits and many cons of filling your body with the dead.

We all have the free will to eat and wear what we please. But even when we feel we are doing no wrong, all should be aware that many choices we make come with consequences. Human life and animal nature are 2 entirely different aspects to be compared. If you live in a cold region and can't afford a coat, I would advise that you find a wolf or polar bear and keep warm with whatever method of your choosing. But how would you feel as a man or woman to be skinned alive for the sake of fashion? That's immoral! But to each it's own. Just be aware of the consequences and reactions for your actions!

Well God made animals and gave us dominion over everything that flys in the air and every animal that walks the earth for us..We choose how and what we need them for….It's our chose as a people not PETA….

So the book does say. That doesn't change the fact that some people love animals and respect the life of all things enough to be bothered by these actions. And if you choose to kill anything for something as meaningless as fashion, that's you're prerogative. But that choice will provoke opinions. Im sure you will still wear what you want, and ppl will still say what they please. But if somebody killed you to make a coat Im sure you would feel some kinda way. So these things should be taken into consideration. These creatures have lives, families, drink the same water and breathe the same air as us. So what gives them less of a right to live?? Damn sure not fashion, maybe survival, but not fashion by any means!!
